What to expect

Your first time? Relax.

There is nothing to prepare and nobody to impress. Here is what a morning at the café is really like.

How a morning usually goes

Every café is a little different, but the shape is always the same: warm, unhurried and easy to slip into.

01

Find us and settle in

We gather in a lovely separate space Hannah sets aside at Café Thyme. Grab a coffee or breakfast and pull up a chair, no introductions required.

02

Chat, or just listen

Some months are an informal natter, others have a guest speaker on wellbeing, reflexology, colours and style, or local support. Join in as much as you like.

03

Leave when you need to

Stay the whole time or pop in for twenty minutes. Many women swap numbers and stay in touch through a friendly little WhatsApp group.

Common questions

Do I need to book?
No. There is no need to book and no list to get on. Just come along on the day and find us in the space at Café Thyme. If you would like a reminder of the next date, drop us an email and we will let you know when it is happening.
What does it cost?
Coming along is free. You simply buy your own coffee, tea or breakfast from Café Thyme while you are there, the same as any other visit. There is no membership, no ticket and no pressure to spend beyond a drink if that is all you fancy.
Where and when is it held?
We meet monthly at Café Thyme in Bishop’s Stortford, usually on a Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 11am. You can find the upcoming dates on our home page, and you are welcome to email us if you would like a reminder before the next one.
Do I have to talk about menopause?
Not at all. Some months we have a guest speaker, other months it is simply a friendly chat over coffee. You are welcome to share as much or as little as you like, or just sit, listen and enjoy the company.
What if I can only stay a little while, or I am running late?
That is completely fine. Come and go as suits you. Stay for the whole thing or pop in for twenty minutes between other bits of your day. Arriving a little late is never a problem, so please do not let it put you off.
Is it only for women in menopause?
It is a space for women in perimenopause and menopause, but you do not need to be sure which stage you are at, or whether you are in it at all. If this time of life is on your mind, you are very welcome to join us.
